A 3 minute solution for slumping sales

We know how to do business with ourselves so we assume our customers know. They don’t. So many of them give up trying to give us money and simply walk away empty handed. Stop losing sales and disappointing customers with a simple fix. Make it easy for customers with this one step sales boost.

Call To Action

Without a call to action our customers do something awful.

NOTHING.

That means they continue to suffer from a problem you can help with. One of the easiest ways to increase sales is to simplify the customer journey.

Often businesses forget to include the actual transaction key, especially in the online world of today. Simply putting the clear call to action “CALL NOW” beside the phone number will increase the number of phone calls. People will go where you tell them to go. PRO TIP: The simpler the instructions and smoother the path, the more people will follow.

Be CLEAR. Not confusing.

Another common mistake is adding confusion in the name of convenience.

Being raised in a polite society means we all want to please those around us. So we cater to their wants when it comes to contacting us.

It feels very natural to let customers choose the next step so we give them all the possible options. Call, email, text, direct message, private message, send carrier pigeons… well maybe not, but you get the idea.

The problem here is they become overwhelmed with options and revert back to doing the awful thing – NOTHING.

Stop losing sales because customers don't know the next step.

This doesn’t mean you can’t have multiple ways for customers to connect. Just pick one for each communication. Plus, it becomes a great way to track what language works best, too, as long as you are tracking your data. (Data tracking is a topic for another time, but if you aren’t, SCHEDULE A CALL NOW!)

BE DIRECT

Kids in school expect homework assignments. Customers don’t.

Telling them to “learn more” when you want them to buy kills conversion rates.

BUY NOW, Schedule a call, Get Access, Add to Cart. Direct calls to action aren’t pushy. They are the step customers need to take to solve their problem. Without a clear CTA they are far less likely to move forward.

Making it easy for them to buy goes beyond reducing the number of clicks. It’s providing them confidence your product will help them.

“Let me know if I can help you” does not inspire confidence.

That says “I don’t believe in my product, but I have to look like I’m trying.”

Don’t think you can never use “learn more” or have other ways to continue to educate customers. Just understand the context for customers. Providing more information is a way to build expertise and authority with your customers, which is great. When being generous with information, “learn more” can offer additional value. So can: read more, get details, find out how…

When it’s time to solve the problem, though, tell customers exactly what to do.
